DIY Seashell Necklace

I hope no one has forgotten that I live on an island.

I must say living on an island has many perks. The best reason has to be you're surrounded by water, so a beach is never too far away.

Island life provides a lot of inspiration. Remember my tropical print shirt I posted two days ago? Well continuing with the island theme, yesterday afternoon, before going to the movies with my dad, I made a seashell necklace.

However, sometimes living on a island has it's downside. Like when it comes to finding shells. They're not always just lying around. And because I didn't have the time or the patience to search the beach for shells, I bought some at my local craft store. The prices were pretty fair so I really didn't mind.

(Somehow I lost the picture that showed all of my supplies so I'll just jump right into it)

A very trying part was trying to glue the sand to the shell. The sand kept going everywhere except the shell, but I eventually made it work.

Then came time to adorn it!

I chose two small seashells and a leftover piece of pot-pourri! I glued them in place.....Then grabbed the chain from a necklace that an ex boyfriend gave me years ago.

And tadaa!!!! It's so cute! I love it and can't wait to wear it!

Maybe with something blue like my current project!

(But you'll have to wait to find out what I'm making!)

Happy Crafting!

^.^
