The Green Zing Detox Face Mask

I've never been one to know if I'm getting a good deal or not on a beauty product. I'm a wash and go kind of girl, so I just used the basic cleanser, and only wear makeup on special occasions. But in recent times, I'm struggling a lot with acne, a problem I never had in high school. I want it to just go away. So after doing some research, I decided to try a detox mask.

And to be honest, it itched. It itched so bad, I had to really discipline myself and not claw it off before it dried. The site I got the recipe from, didn't specify how often to use it or what exactly it's supposed to do for your skin and how it works, but my skin was butter smooth and tight when I took it off. My skin was bright and glowing! And I got the feeling that prolonged use might actually make a difference. This recipe leaves A LOT left over so you can cover it in plastic wrap and store in the fridge until your next use. It should last at least two weeks.

The Green Zing Face Mask

  • 1/2 overly ripe Avocado

  • 1/2 Lemon (juice)

  • 1 Tbs. Coconut oil

  • 2 drops Lemon essential oil

Blend the avocado until smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients.

Spread a thin layer all over your (non-makeup-ed) clean face and leave it on until it dries, about 15-20 minutes.

Remove by placing a warm washcloth over your face and letting the mask soften. Then, you can just wipe it off with the washcloth and rinse your face completely.

Note: When using citrus essential oils on the skin you should avoid the sun for 24 hrs.
