Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity, Easter's on its way!
Bringin' every girl and boy
Baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay!
It's almost Easter and I just can't contain myself!
My godson Liam calls me goddy, and he is so happy!
He walks everywhere, he smiles and talks, and I actually understand him for the most part!
I love spending time with him!
I can't believe he's going to be two in July, but they all have to grow up at some point.
So now that he's able to understand more about his surroundings I've decided that this is a good time to make an Easter basket for him.
I worry about him having too much candy, so there isn't much candy going in this basket, but it's still going to be full of fun and STYLE!
Today I'm sharing with you how I made a felt bunny to hold the candy for his basket! These oh-so-cute Easter bunny bags are perfect for storing eggs and candy. It's so easy and should only take about an hour. Best of all, it doesn't require a lot of materials. And if you're a bit of a hoarder like me, you have most of these materials just lying around the house.
To make each bag, grab an 8 1/2x11 felt sheet in your favourite colour or print. I used a beige one I had in storage.
Cut 2 or 3 inches from one long side, then cut this strip in half for two ears. Fold the remaining piece of felt in half with the fold on the bottom.
Stitch the sides together. (To make it even cuter, try poking holes in the sides and threading a ribbon through for closure).
Sew the ears onto each side of the bag, leaving the middle of the bag between the ears open.
Hot-glue white felt circles and black pom-poms for the eyes. Add a pink felt triangle and two white pom-poms for the nose.
Then stuff your new bag with Easter eggs, crayons, candy etc. and watch your kid go wild with excitement for their new friend!
That's seriously it!
The best part about this project is your child now has a toy they can play with once the candy is gone. Don't you just love multi-purpose crafts?
There's still time to try this before Easter. If you've got an hour, you can make this too!
Until then, Stay Fashionable!
Hippity, hoppity, Easter's on its way!
