It's time to get comfortable in this lovely winter weather and busy yourself with a little light reading. It's sad that the older I get, the less time I have to read. School does that to a person. I've read so many journal articles and textbook pages, and written so many papers that most days the last thing I want to do is read a book. But every now and then, when I get that one week break in between the start and end of a course, I always try to find something to read. This week, that book is, "I Love You (And Other Lies I've Told)" by Crissy Milazzo.
I'm into Chapter 2 so far and I love it! I had to pull myself away from the book and remind myself that I should probably actually work while on my job. I call it a light read because it's not a long book. What I love about it, is each chapter tells several stories based on a particular theme period of her life. You know how whenever there's an awful accident about the happen, you can't look away? Well this girl's entire life was just that moment on loop, and I couldn't look away! I think we revel in these kind of moments because it's not happening to us or anyone we know, so we can actually enjoy it.
Here is the synopsis of the book:
"Have you ever been so low that you cried while eating a sandwich, or so high that you bought three pizzas and got into a stranger's van? No? Live those ugly truths (and several pretty hilarious lies) vicariously through a compilation of Crissy Milazzo's best essays."
Let me just say that the pizza story so far is my absolute favourite! I urge you all to buy it on Amazon for only $4 for Kindle (Remember you don't have to own a Kindle to read a Kindle ebook. You can just download the app for your smart phone, which is what I do). I'll report to you guys when I'm done reading to give it my full verdict so no spoilers! Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE! And comment in the comment section below if you're interested in this book or want to suggest a book for me to read!
