Potluck Dinner Recap

What?! It's Monday?! How and when did that happen? Who gave Monday permission to come so eary? I swear, my alarm went off this morning and I thought to myself, why is my alarm going off at 5 in the morning on a Sunday. I didn't want to get up this morning. Since my lady friend is paying my a visit my energy level has been crap. I slept for a few hours on Saturday (would've been more if the power didn't go out and it weren't so hot without it). And I feel like if I could just sleep for two hours right now, I'd feel brand new. My weekend was fun and exciting without being overexerting.
Remember when I told you that I was going to a potluck dinner with some friends from church over the weekend? It was great! This was my first time cooking for a dinner party and boy was I nervous! I mean, people will tell you that your food tastes great regardless, but you want them to be genuinely honest when they say it. So I searched high and low on Pinterest for some great party recipes and decided on a Chicken and Asparagus Skillet Supper, Lemon Basil Pasta Salad (which was supposed to have strawberries tossed in it, but I had a change of heart at the last minute) and a Strawberry Cheesecake (which became something totally different but still amazing! These recipes will come later.

We all met at Denise's house (which is gorgeous and embodies a lot of elements of my dream house). Denise and her husband Kirk co-lead the tech group at Potential Church here in the Bahamas. They work great together and it's always fun around them. Their daughters Kayden and Kylie and their son Nick were awesome to be around and kept my friend Catina's kids company! We had music, games and most importantly, WINE! Umm......uh....I meant food. Yeah that's totally what I meant. (But we also had wine)!
Denise did a great job setting up. She even made cute placards for the food. It was so cool getting to see the names of my dishes next to my dish! I kinda felt like royalty!

Because it was an Italian themed night we had pizza and caprese skewers!

Everyone loved my cheesecake, that took THREE Pie crusts to make! I was so grateful it came out good since this is my first official cheesecake!

And Denise's Tiramisu was to die for!
Everyone had fun eating and laughing, and we all got to know each other a little better.

Then after what felt like an eternity, we finally got started on the game for the night: Partini. Partini was so much fun and a great party game for most ages!
One game in particular really made us laugh. It's called Bouncers. The game is more like a sober beer pong. And with my hand-eye coordination skills....well see for yourself.
I really loved sharing my weekend with you guys. Stay tuned for all the yummy recipes from this post and others!
