Happy Monday!

I'm normally not excited about Monday's but it is the first day of June! Which means more beach days, and more parties! This weekend was jam-packed with so much activities I barely had any time to myself! But I don't think I would change anything. So let's dive right in, shall we?

On Friday after work, I went to happy hour at The Humidor. My high school alumni association had a meetup and it was great. It was only $20 for a 12" pizza and either 3 beers, 2 glasses of wine or 2 mixed drinks. They do this every Friday so I will definitely do this again with friends! There were only three people (including me) from my graduating year, 2007) and a friend of mine from 2005. It was mostly older people who graduated in years like '84 (like my dad) and '92. I was super surprised (and slightly disturbed) to see them get down to the soca and reggae muic. But then again, once Machel Montano came on, even I got up and danced!

I met someone who graduated in 2003 and we had a lot of fun talking and taking selfies! We even hopped over downtown to listen to my friend Gary's band, Haeven, play at Dali Tapas. We had sangrias and an overall good time!

(Hi Wilfred)!

Then Saturday came and I went to the It's All Good Hair Natural Hair Event and Happy Hair Boutique on Sears Road in Palmdale. I went with one of my best friend's Anuschka. She was even featured from the Kinky Project.

There was product testing available along with free samples! I tried the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and it worked well with my hair. I put it on a section in the back and twisted. At the end of the event (around 8pm, so it was in for about 3 hours) I took it out and I had a really nice curl. Plus, after putting the residue in the rest of my hair, my hair was softer a baby's blanket. So I'm definitely considering making the investment!

We met up with some of the ladies from Natural Sistas 242, and it was great finally getting to meet these gals! They're absolutley hilarious and so much fun to be around! We've already planned to get together again this weekend for Samantha's birthday!

There was even two raffles for two gift baskets loaded with products. None of us won, but it was still fun to play along.

If you're ever in the neighbourhood, I definitely suggest that you check them out. They're prices are incredible and it's a pretty good selection for natural hair products. They're still expanding so I expect even better things from them in the future!

Afterwards we went to Outback and had a great time eating appetizers like quesadillas, wings and the blooming onion.

Wooh! Okay, now for Sunday! (I told you it was jam-packed)!

My cousin decided to surprise us all with an impromptu visit. She lives in Philidelphia now so we usually only get to see her at Christmas. And whenever she's in town, that typically means one thing: Bowling Championship Deathmatch! Well may be not the deathmatch part, but my family takes this competition thing pretty seriously! My brother and the cousin squared off to settle their rivalry and my other cousin and his dad competed against each other. And who was I competing against? I was just trying to catch up to my mum. She kicked butt this time around, while I suffered from sweaty palms and couldn't hold onto the ball to save my life. But you win some you lose some. I know we'll do this again for Christmas so I've got between now and then to brush up on my skills and redeem my honour!
