Happy Monday!

It may be 80 degrees outside but I am ready for Christmas!

My theme for this Christmas, is 'A Country Christmas'.

So I've been pinning away, and I already have some decorations in storage ready to go up the weekend after Thanksgiving (which by the way we typically don't celebrate in The Bahamas).

I'm so ready that yesterday morning, before going to my nephew's Christening, I brewed my own version of Starbucks' Gingerbread Latte!

(Thanks Pinterest for the inspiration)!

This at home version is a wonderful spicy beverage that will leave you feeling warm and full! And the best part, you'll save so much because it requires ingredients you probably already own!

DIY STARBUCKS GINGERBREAD LATTE

First prepare the Gingerbead Syrup

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients into a medium pot. Bring mixture to a boil and then reduce heat and allow syrup to simmer.

Leave unconvered for 15 minutes and then remove from heat.

Prepare a double shot of espresso (half a cup) and steam one cup of milk. Pour espresso into cup add 1/4 cup of gingerbread syrup followed by the milk. Stir and serve hot!
