Coffee Bananas Foster Smoothie

At first I wanted orange juice this morning, then I felt like coffee. Then I noticed half of an unused banana laying on the kitchen counter. So then I started think about making a coffee banana smoothie. I felt like there was a name for something like that but I couldn’t figure it out. After scratching my head for about 5 minutes, it came to me: Bananas Foster. I kind of wish I didn’t stick so close to the recipe because it was rather bitter and dry. I know, how can a liquid be dry? But it left my tongue and mouth dry so I had to do something. Think about it, bananas tend to absorb a lot of liquid and the texture of yogurt isn’t exactly velvety. So I added the vanilla ice cream because I found the coffee flavour to be a bit too strong and the smoothie had an overall bitter and dry taste. I believe in a well balanced and smooth flavour. One ingredient shouldn’t overpower the rest. Going forward, I would suggest not using the original 1 ½ cups of coffee (because that’s a lot of coffee) and maybe 3 oz. of yogurt instead of 6. I also used decaf coffee for dietary restrictions.
